Mountain Chalk Oak Chevron is a versatile parquet floor - stylish and modern with any decor. The timeless Chevron planks meet together in perfect points like a long string of arrows and add a unique style and sense of dynamism to any space - trendy or traditional. Finished in a UV matt lacquer to protect the innate aesthetic, whilst providing an extremely practical, yet natural floor finish. The Character/Rustic grade allows for moderate colour variation, large knots and small filled cracks. Available in both a plank and herringbone format.
Engineered flooring is the perfect combination of practicality and authenticity. Constructed in layers, generally made from birch plywood, engineered flooring has a top layer veneer made from solid wood.
It's these layers underneath which provide engineered flooring with a greater structural stability than solid wood floors. This means that it's not as prone to shrinking or warping with changes in environmental conditions. Due to this stability, it is possible for engineered floors to be installed using any fitting method, including nail, glue down and float. It also allows for engineered flooring to be installed above underfloor heating, whereas solid wood flooring (in most cases) cannot.
The solid wood veneer generally ranges from 3-6mm in thickness and is suitable for sanding. Sanding can remove between 0.5 to 1mm of wood per sanding. A thicker wear layer means your floor can be sanded and refinished more often, increasing the lifespan of the floor.
